I believe they are called whistler ducks, that pair come here every season, stay for a couple of weeks,then leave....they love the yabbies in the dam...this place is bird friendly, no cats allowed, we have Jenny wrens nest here all around the home, there are about 10 pair now, then the native canary well they have taken up residence all over the veranda, they build their nests inside the hollow steel frames of the veranda, then when the spring comes they all love to build new nest an chatter away inside the pipes, or whistle and it echoes all over the place, my office is on the end of the veranda, so it is lovely of a day time with them all going at it, can get quite noisy sometimes, but as we don't have neighbors it is very peaceful and relaxing...

I have never felt the inside of a kangaroo's pouch also. Your story is amazing how you have raised some of the babies up to adults and I am sure it was hard for you to let them go.

The king parrots come down to feed twice day, have done for years, they are all free wild birds,...they come and go as they please...have had up to 50 in 1 sitting...

Thanks Guys! Had no idea it would take off like this, but it goes to show you how much all of us love the outdoors and it's beauty! We are really fortunate to have such an international showing here on this Forum which makes it even more fun and interesting!

Czevski--beautiful birds...are those birds part of the Finch Family? Their beak has that short beak characteristic I see with the finches we see here.

Currently, I have my eyes on a beautiful Monarch Butterfly which likes my Echinacea. I would love to take a pic of it, but it doesn't stay long. Monarch sighting are very rare for me to see here. Not sure if you are seeing any in Wisconsin, Czevski. :)
