Well! I've got the Xmas lights up in the lounge. The rope lights in the garden have been up all summer so no need to do them.

I already know maybe 4 kids' names in the hour I'll be teaching. (I'm observing two other classes) So hey, it's a start. Only like 23 more to go! lol
My phone is a dream!! I love it!! I'm sooo glad I picked the white one. It's so pretty, and I got such a cute girly little case for it.
I'm putting up my 4 foot tree in my apt this weekend. I've had it a few years but I was nervous that my cat would try to destroy it. But she's an older, well behaved cat. So I'm actually going to be festive this year, lol.
Oo err! My new puddy is not so mature. Eek! I wonder whether he will be a bad puddy tat and climb the tree. That's what Trixie did when she was an itty bitty baby.
Sorry! I was doing the cartoon character Elmer Fudge? Looks mighty pretty in here. Red berry lights mixed in with old fairy lights that have lost some of their bulbs.

BAH HUMBUG!!!!
only kidding Hayles!!! but I do wish it only lasted a week, I hate it when I go in a shop in November and find the assistants resembling over-decorated Christmas Tree's!!
Congrats on being made a mod. When did that happen? I must have been asleep.
Yeah, stop being a humbug. I love all the Xmas lights and especially when it starts to snow as well.

This is a nice thread, Hayley. We will be visiting friends on Christmas Day. They will have a house full, with about 12 there. My wife says we won't go if it's snowing or icy then.Quote:

Apart from that, we will be seeing our nieces after Christmas Day.
It's a super time, but we cannot fail to talk about the ironies of waste and overspending at that time of year.

Our Christingle service collects for children charities and it's the real Christmas celebration. When we light all the oranges, the lights are turned off and we are all in a circle on the outer walls. Its really quite special we sing "This little light of mine'. We get bogged down with all the techie goodies but when you don't have any money, you begin to appreciate the smaller things in life.

I was just talking to Richard and wanted to show you where we used to take our kids. It was really special. It was the West Somerset railway and they have Santa visits where you go on the train and you get hot choc, tea, coffee and a mince pie. You could have stronger of course! Then we would go to the next train station where Santa was in his grotto. The kids would get their Xmas prezzies (parents would give the age and gender of kids going) and then we would go back to the station again. Such a lovely idea and keeps the old steam trains going. There are other rides like Dunster in candlelight which we have never done but I expect it's spectacular. There is a National Trust castle there which we love we love visiting but we've never been in winter.

I just watched Jack Frost with Michael Keaton. Great movie and of course so sad for Charlie when his dad has to go back to heaven. Where's the tissues?
