Amazing work Stranding!!
Love it and I can see the flowers!!
Many thanks Richard, Hayles & Leelai!
It's rather a big & daunting project to start up & worrying in case it doesn't work:-( It could easily be an expensive mistake...
Richard, did you catch the very interesting programme on Radio 4 about Norman Foster & his work?
(Think it was yesterday, but could have been Tuesday. Sorry can't be more specific-- trying to catch up on 2 days of posts while I've been jaunting:-). Pathetically, didn't catch the title either...)
No, I missed it. Thanks for flagging it up. The iPlayer will be busy again! :)Quote:

I'm listening now. "The New Elizabethans" presented by James Naughtie.

Huh, missed that--presume also on Radio 4? We usually have R4 on but for some reason, didn't an hour ago. There's a programme on the increase in parakeets at the moment--do you have them your way? We haven't ever seen any here. Called "The Alien Birds have Landed" or something similar.Quote:

Yes, we have loads of Parakeets. The population is increasing in volume both in sound and numbers!Quote:

The experts are apparently very worried about the increase in numbers & the fact that they are aggressive & driving out the natives. They are apparently urban dwellers which probably explains why we don't have any here.Quote:

This is a bit of the streetscape in Market Square in Bampton, Oxon, UK, where I live. It's a "Cotswold" village basically but not a "precious" one as some of the very touristy ones are, such as Chipping Camden or Bourton on the Water are.
Bampton is busy with lots going on and has a mixture of very ancient & not so old buildings. The iconic postbox has just been moved here after being in a rather difficult place to stop at for centuries.
And the flag is something that appeared mysteriously in the road overnight before the jubilee. It gets rolled over by hundreds of cars but is still in good nick. Suspects are the folk who each year on April Fool's day put a spoof sign over the one put up by the council-- the "look out for elderly walkers" one. I will find a link for some examples--many have been very funny.
Love the union jack
