This shelter is a no-kill with a very speedy adoption rate, which is good to see. Some dogs only last a day. The longest most dogs last is 2 or 3 weeks. At first I used to get sad about it, because I love each and every one of them, but I can't have a dog right now (for a lot of reasons), so I couldn't adopt even if I wanted to. In a year from now, when I will be able to adopt.. well.. I'll probably bring one of those dogs home immediately.
You are so right about the spay/neutering. My cat was a stray when I rescued her. She was 8 years old and hadn't been fixed. She had tons of litters, my poor baby. She isn't an outdoor cat so she wouldn't have any more, but she got fixed at the shelter I adopted her at.
The dog I really loved from today was found as a stray. :( I hope it was an accident. But I know a lot of times people just let their dogs go to fend for themselves. Angers me to no end.
