That's a great post, Leelai! I remember as a kid visiting Montreal and discovered pop rocks. I loved it and remember buying 10 packs of it! :) They didn't start making it here until years later, so it was a real unique candy for me! :)

BTW. It could be interesting to draw up a chart of what could replace what of the Hostess lines. For example, could the various doughnuts jam filled, sugary, mini ones, or doughnut twists covered in icing sugar be substitutes? ;)
