They drain the Welland Canal after it closes for the winter. It is something to see when empty. Watch this space....!

I will try getting a picture of the Trinity River when it's flooded, Normal, and almost empty. Weather here is crazy and yes Texas has floods, in Fort Worth around the 1900s we had over 7 feet of water and I have no idea how the water even accumulated if our land is plain not like New Orleans which is located in the valley (That's the reason New Orleans, Louisiana floods easily) There's a famous picture where a horse is standing on top of a house (The roof is the only visible place everything else is under water)Originally Posted by Roy Rob
The outback is vast and there is a reason no bugger lives there, it hot , hot and with no water at all, good for ot much except 4WDriving! We have some of the nicest beaches though, always wanted to see Canada but it would be too bloody cold !

I've been to the beach here in Texas, I always get sunburned :/ I like going to Corpus Christi and South Padre Island they feel relaxing and calm, But just so ya know our beach water is Brown since the waves move the brown dirt and mix it up in the water.
No wonder Dallas is ranked 2nd in the USA for construction, it seems like every week a new project pops up, one project will make Crowne Plaza in Dallas more taller, another project is a 25 Story office building in Victory Park (Dallas' main part of the city, like Times Square) and they are planning 3 new skyscrapers in Victory park that are condos and hotels, and they are also planning another hotel that is called The House, and right now the city has added a lot of modern buildings and places like the Klyde Warren Park (Urban/Modern Park) Museum of Science and Nature (Modern/Futuristic Museum) just so y'all know NYC is ranked number 1 in construction projects, Dallas is number 2. Dallas is also ranked number 1 in construction of apartments in the USA (Why do these people keep moving to the South?!!! Lol It's Extremely hot here during summer and extremely cold here during winter, I'm guessing its cuz every building in Texas has an AC lol)
Lol is it just me or whenever there's an economic problem in the world there seems to be more construction going on, you would think that the economy keeps cities from building buildings, houses, etc. Supposedly we are in a economic crisis and people see this as an opportunity to invest in real estate, and other things :/ I don't know but every where I look I see construction that seems pricey
Bullet Trains in Texas?! According to many online articles there has been many discussions going around about Texas adding a bullet train (Train that accelerates 206 miles per hour) There are 2 plans that might eventually get built or they will never be built if there isn't enough momentum. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex would be a great place for a bullet train, the second plan is to make a bullet train from DFW Metroplex to Houston -.- , which must articles have a hint showing that many people in DFW would prefer to have one in the Metroplex (Like I said before Dallas- Fort Worth residents don't want anything to do with Houston, and Houston doesn't want nothing with us) Most people in the DFW metro support the bullet train being constructed in the Metroplex which would allow people to travel from Dallas (THE 9TH BIGGEST CITY) to Fort Worth (THE 16TH BIGGEST CITY) and maybe they would eventually add on more stops, possibly they would eventually make a stop at Arlington (THE 50TH BIGGEST CITY) if the plan is passed. Personally I prefer a bullet train in DFW because we have lots of Cities that are in the top 100 best cities to live in, and we also have cities that well have a small population but they have booming business. The DFW metroplex is made up of the following cities Arlington, Addison, Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Grand Prairie, Irving, Mc Kinney, Garland, Gainesville, Paris (Texas), Denton, Weather Ford, Lake Dallas, Lake Worth, Duncanville, (This is considered its own city) Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (The worlds 8th busiest airport) and all these cities I named have downtowns, booming business, industry or population. [SORRY IF THIS IS TO LONG, I LIKE TALKING ABOUT PROJECTS] Basically the normal time from Dallas to Fort Worth in the free way Is 30 minutes without traffic ( Every single day we have traffic it's more likely over an hour of driving) but with the bullet train it would take 18 minutes flat, and the second plan from DFW to Houston -.- would allow people to Travel between the cities in 90 Minutes?! (1Hour and 30minutes) and the project of passed will cost a little over 10 BILLION dollars, and the public wouldn't fund it, it would be private funding. Hopefully this gets passed I would love going to Dallas every day and still live in Fort Worth
[If your area has a major project make sure to post it on here the length doesn't matter lol]
DFW wins again, if your the type of person who looks at yahoo! News maybe you have seen the article Where are Americans Moving to?According to Forbes Dallas- Fort Worth is still leading in population growth in the USA, Miami- Fort Lauderdale is 2nd, Austin is 3rd, (I forgot who's in 4th), and Houston in 5th place. According to the article more immigrants from Asia are moving to the sunbelt states ( or places near the sunbelt states) Dallas has had a 70% increase in Asian Population, and according to the article the following cities are loosing population, 1. New York City, 2. Los Angeles, 3.Chicago, 4-6 I think it was Boston and some other city. (basically the top 3 cities are losing more people then gaining them)
