I've not heard of that brand. Is it a local roaster?

It has been a while since I lived in New England but I seem to remember a huge store at the southern end just as you come into the state (tons of liqueur too). I remember it being on the 91 before getting to Brattleboro and I think it was in the middle of the highway (not sure why I would remember it being between the North and Southbound lanes, but I do. I used to pass it on my way up skiing in Vermont and New Hampshire. I didn't drink coffee, but remember a friend that did and he couldn't wait to get there and fill up the thermos.

I just read this on website, but this is not where you mentioned: Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR) was founded in 1981 as a small café in Waitsfield, Vermont.

    Adding link: http://investor.gmcr.com/background.cfm

Found this elsewhere on corporate investor website:

1998............... Green Mountain Coffee closes retail stores to focus on wholesale business.

That's an excellent deal! The expiration dates are probably less than 30 days BUT - the bags are sealed so well it doesn't matter.

I bought several pounds last Christmas and held back a few for summer vacation and the coffee still had spark.

No, though I don't know how widely it's distributed. Stewart's is from Chicago. Some grocery stores here in St. Louis carry it. If you like a robust coffee flavor with no bitterness, it might be worth asking your favorite store to get it for you.
