    R.I.P. Challenger crew.
A good friend of mine was down there for the launch. He just finished getting a haircut, went over to some stands they had set up close to the pad, the launch went off and the breakup occurred - he said they just didn't realize it wasn't normal until someone asked why no part was really going up anymore. Very sad day

    R.I.P. Challenger crew.
The London Metro paper had the vapour trail picture in its today in history section. Then a few paragraphs down, there was mention of the Apollo 1 disaster, the anniversary of which was on Jan 27.

BTW. Elsewhere in the paper there was a great 2 page spread about the Mars explorer robots and how Opportunity is trundling on way past her shelf date.

I watch that movie once a year. Whether I need to or not.

I laugh just looking at George C. Scott.
