Drove on another 5 minutes and couldn't believe how many there were in the area and how low they were sitting......I counted about 40 and that was standing in the 1 spot and scanning the trees!

It's a great feeling to know they are out there and in such good numbers especially as this area was devastated by fires a number of years ago and so much wildlife perished.
That's awesome that you saw them on your trip. When we went out to San Diego-we spent a day at the zoo. I must have spent 2 hours watching the koalas-just love how they look. I am just fascinated with them! Did you take these with a camera or your iPhone ?

Do you have the big slugs? I've seen them over 6" long.

I don't think they're related. Echidnas lay eggs, porcupines don't.

I believe The OB's avatar was the first posting of a Koala photo in this thread.

I took these with my new iPhone......quite good I thought.

Did they allow you to hold the koalas in the San Diego zoo?

That's what I thought about the iPhone camera-that's is pretty darn good for a point and shoot! I was wondering if you thought the same and guess we're on the same page!

What happens if you grab one in the wild? Are they as docile as the look?

Yep, I've seen some monsters here too......they used to get in the house at night but slug pellets and salt seems to have put an end to that!
