Its not the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar, its the stage show at Pinewood Studios, Evita is the Alan Parker film starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, a fantastic film!!
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat stars Donny Osmond, Richard Attenborough and Joan Collins to mention a few
    A fine collection.

I've seen JCS twice, live. Both were touring companies. Once in 1976 and again in Ottawa several years ago.

Carl Anderson reprised his role as Judas in the second out, per the motion picture adaptation.

For me, the strongest and most satisfying line-up was the original Webber / Rice helmed rock opera concept recording that featured Deep Purple's Ian Gillan as Christ, Murray Head as Judas and Yvonne Elliman as Mary M.

    1970 release on Decca.

    Raw power that was.

I had the first press vinyl box release with booklet and expanded liner notes. Unfortunately it went MIA during one of many moves from city to city.

A few years ago I replaced it with a re-issued re-mastered double CD set. The replay on my car system is stunning.

I agree. Saw them in college during Back In Black tour, sixth row/center (ringing ears for days ). Which makes it all the more sad that we can't get their stuff on iTunes.

"We believe the songs on any of our albums belong together. If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album. We don't think that represents us musically." - Angus Young

Seems a bit short-sighted on their part. But they've certainly stayed consistent on it through the years, unfortunately.

As for what I'm listening to now? Mostly a lot of the newer stuff actually. Adele, Maroon 5, P!nk, Katy Perry, The Fray, Neon Trees etc. Used to be pretty much exclusively a hard core oldies guy, The Who, U2, Stones, The Boss, Fleetwood Mac, Seger etal. Hated most anything after about 1995. But after I got an iPad and Iphone, access to iTunes kinda opened up new avenues and I starting finding a lot of new stuff I like. One of my current favorites is "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye. And it's not a good day at the gym if I haven't heard "Payphone" by Maroon 5, "Everybody Talks" by Neon Trees and "Good Feeling" by Flo Rida. I guess it's never too late to find new music you like, even for an old phart like me.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to be able to grab "Highway to Hell", "Back In Black" and "..Shook Me" for my idevices, there is something to be said for sticking to your principles.

If you can stay calm while all around you is chaos then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation
