A strand of Gaelic DNA is affecting my musical tastes today.
Bear McCreary scored the 4 seasons of Ronald Moore's re-imagined "Battlestar Galactica".
Progressively the music became one of the standout elements of the show. The orchestral arrangements and themes assigned to the characters added so much to each episode.
"Admiral and Commander" from Season 3, is one of my favorite series pieces of music.

Presently giving my Bose cans a workout, courtesy of Mike Oldfield and "The Songs of Distant Earth". I hope someone makes a movie of this story one day, and uses Mike's soundtrack.
Admiral, all this time I thought you looked like Edward James Olmos and now I feel like a goof (not Goofy or we would both be having an identity crisis) after listening to that beautiful music you linked.
It seems that Mr. Olmos looks a lot like you (the real Admiral). I guess he must be in that Galaxy Quest universe.![]()

Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you will reach your destiny. (C. S.)
I spent some time listening to my BSG sound tracks this weekend.
Another Season 3 favourite of mine is "Someone To Trust".
This is a blend of an already established theme assigned to the characters of Adama and President Roslin. In the earliest part of the series they're perceived adversaries. But their relationship evolves into a partnership.

Shadows by the group E'Void, a classic South African pop song from the 80's...
