It looks like a card or ticket reader.

The yellow colour indicates that it reads tickets purchased to travel on public transport, such as a bus or at the entrance to a train station.

The ticket has a sensitive strip which holds the necessary information such as destination, fare paid and the date of travel. If all of the information reads positively when the ticket is inserted in the slot, the barrier opens to let the passenger onto the system.

I was interrupted by a door-to-door salesman. OK, if I'm correct, I'm not able to monitor or post a challenge, so invite the first person along to post a challenge.

Correct, Admiral. It's the calling card slot on a public phone.

Here's a hint. It's not Pluto. It's not animal or mineral but it does contain minerals because of the environment it's in most of its life.

Of course it's in its jacket. After all, it's going out for dinner.

There is small scale commercial potato farming near Regina, at Craven, Saskatchewan.

P.S. I can't monitor a challenge right not and hereby open the challenge to any iPF member who wishes to post a challenge.
