It's an old Braun grinder, back in the day when the company manufactured home appliances in Germany.

The dark (dirty looking areas) of the bean drum (top) and finished grounds bin (bottom) are from residue from the oils in the coffee beans. Despite cleaning the oil eventually stains the plastic. We use only the darkest roasted beans which have a considerable oil content.
