Sorry, it has nothing to do with a fireplace. This door would have been used to deliver an item to the house at one time.

No, it isn't a weed wacker. It's kept indoors and it isn't plastic. I've opened the photo out a bit, to remove some of the surrealism (I like the surreal look!)
