Is it a dummy artillery projectile used for range practice? This is a wild guess.

    It's not a dummy,It's disarmed,of course,and the fuse is missing.
    It has been fired.
It dates from the mid to late 19th century and was used in a rifled muzzle loading cannon.

My morning is suddenly complicated again. Rather than put the thread in park sci, you can open the challenge or issue another. Somehow I'm sure there's something of interest in the Viking souvenir chest.

It looks like a bulb used in an electric fire with "coals". In such fires, the bulb was placed on it's side under a spinner vane which, when the bulb was hot, rotated to give a flickering flame effect.

The fires were called flame effect electric fires. They were very popular in the mid 1950s to late 1960s.

...... ..... Sorry about that. I hadn't seen the posts since the flash bulb was solved. My iPad had given me problems. It couldn't open apps. It went into a loop when I tried to turn off the power. Al is up and running, but it looks like I need to get up to speed with the forum threads!

Sent from my iPad 1 using iPF - Greetings

It's a double socket outlet, for an electric current 110 volt rated.
