Oh yes there are, this one. Did you see the last shot? The whole object is about 2 & a half ins. high.

It looks like it's sitting on top of a timer. Is it a genuine cup and saucer or does it just have the appearance of the real thing, being permanently mounted on the timer.
    Timer for brewing coffee?

Oh yes, it's a genuine cup & saucer, made as shown here. And yes, you've got it. A timer for timing anything.
    You have the challenge next.

The cup is about 1inch high, the saucer about 2 & quarter ins across. To set the timer, you hold the cup or saucer and revolve. When not timing the handle is set to point to the 0.

My sister collects novelty timers & she has many great ones, of all sorts of shapes & sizes. I don't collect them but couldn't resist this which went with the set of cups & saucers we bought. I use the bigger version of this for coffee. Always if I can, rather than a mug. (ref: the Anything Goes thread just now)

I've already read the posts on coffee mugs. I like the Admiral's monkey cup.

Yup, and Richard's Nessie one, complete with the high protein fish inside. Complete meal in a mug!
