You remind me of my CCF ( combined cadet force) days at school. There was a piece of wisdom about not showing a light for too long at night. The saying was worked in with the sequence. Ready ... Take aim ... Fire. I think it had something to do with a 3 second rule?

Here's a photo showing the monocular together with one from the M16 "Blink" signal lamp.

Scifan, you never cease to amaze me. You must have been collecting for a long long time. Many posts back, you said your collection lives in the house, not the basement. I'm getting the impression that you are running a museum of sorts. I do hope you impart your knowledge with talks to schools, local societies etc.

Sorry about this. Haven't got much to hand.
OK Kevin, is this a symbol warning of a flammable upholstery filling?

I note the sign was stitched onto a fabric, or over a thin foam of sorts.

No. Nothing to do with the seat of my truck. I just placed it there to give a black background.

Although this one is Canadian, this device is used the world over.

Of course, it's a flame symbol which must be placed on vehicles carrying flammable materials. The symbol is an internationally recognised warning.

It signifies that you are carrying flammable cargo in your truck.

Correct. It's a label for a small means of containment holding dangerous goods of primary class 4, that is, flammable solids.

    Your turn, Richard.

Thanks Kevin, I just got in there. I should have recognised the symbol immediately as I have followed enough fuel tankers etc!

OK my challenge is what is this a part of? I want to know what the equipment does, as a whole.

    What is it?-image-3071311707.jpg

Edit.. There are clues in the background of the photo.

I have actually used these labels when driving right past your house en route from Weyburn to Kindersley.
