In the past, people have had problems with their devices getting stuck on the idea that the headphones were plugged in all the time. Most of the time this was caused by a bit of debris or dust in the microphone jack; a really hard thing to solve. The way to tell is when you are turning up/down the volume the word 'headphones' will appear in the speaker icon that shows in the middle of the screen.
Things that fixed it, generally just plugging in/out the jack, or it cleared up by itself with no clear cause. Usually after a reset.
But I'm really hoping the Reset All Settings does the job.
I was hoping reset all would work as well.Saddly no luck.
My head phone plug appears clear The headphone signal only comes on when they are plugged in.
thanks twitter poet for your sound advice.
I guess. It' s to the apple store for me.My apple store closed up shop so I'll have to find a new one.
oh some good news...My sweety just said that my regular apple store opened in a new location
And don't think I missed that horrible 'sound advice' pun. *grrrrr*

Actually it was unintentional..just a fluke or sub conscience.Good night I will post after an apple geek has a try.
Just finished re-arranging all my Home Screens, apps, and folders on the iPad.
Unless this sounds like fun, do not under any circumstances go to Settings > General > Restrictions and turn off all apps under Allow Content. When you turn it back on the only folders that will survive are those that contain native apps, and the only apps in those few folders will be those native apps. It's a quick way to go from four Home Screens to about 12, in my case.
I was experimenting, trying to duplicate a problem posted elsewhere on the forum.
I might have been able to recover using a backup, but, well, instead I took it as an opportunity to organize again. So it's not all bad. I didn't really need that hour for anything important.
I just finished the first chapter of my new work in progress book Christine II: Return of the Fury, I can't paste it here for some reason there should be a copy and paste feature on here, it is an amazing chapter that I wrote, my friend liked the part about me trash picking all the old TVs and getting the key to the dump!
