    No, how do you, etc..?

Put him in the microwave until his bill withers. 

The following were found by a co-checker of 1901 census transcriptions: -

    Howlers

A few I can add to your list are:-
A Public Hospital Nurse becoming a Horseman on Farm.
A Clergyman (Church of England) becoming an Ordinary Ag.Lab.
A Worker at an Explosives Factory becoming A Worker at An Exposure Factory
    and the latest-
    A Yacht Builder becoming a Painter's Butcher!

    And there are more..... 

Let's bump this thread with some dreadful puns, corniness etc. I have edited a string of messages on a genealogy forum, as below. You will very quickly get the drift. All of us enjoyed some banter...........

    -----Original Message-----
From: Brian Varrall on 21 July 2011 To: ENG-LINCSGEN@rootsweb.com
Subject: [LIN] POWER, AMPS & Nun's Farm
I have a cert. relating to a 1920's birth which give the pob "Nun's Farm. Grimsby."
Wondering if anyone can throw any light on where & what this place is/was?
The names are POWER and AMPS (mother).
    Brian

    ---- Various responses ----
Terry Wells - It was probably an ohm

Brian Varrall - Terry, Guess you couldn't resist that one

Nivard Ovington - I thought it was shocking <g>

Edw.j.Tate - Is this the current monthly exercise......

Richard Brown - What are you trying to plug? <VBG>

Brian Varrall - I can see this going down to the wire
Seriously though, I had to take this off list 'cos I've discovered that one of the parties (Sheila Amps) is actually alive and living in Gy - true! How shocking is that!

Phil at Angelic Aromas - She's probably nun the worse for it. We can't help making revolting jokes.

Richard M Brown - Quite. I do hope that none of us got our wires crossed, and that there was nothing negative. Things should remain positive. Who can deny that our shared hobby doesn't have its amusing sparks! And, on that note, I think I will go to ground.
