I used to get it duty free. That made it a bit more affordable. Those were the days.

The UK is waking up after a night do storms with winds gusting up to 90 mph and floods. There had been a lot of damage in several places up and down the entire Western regions of the UK.

How are you Hayles, and Drew Wal? Have either of you suffered much damage?

-16°C and cloudy. The streets are clogged with snow over a layer of slick ice.

For information about the flooding etc, look at the Environment Agency website. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/

Last night's winds emptied our Copper Beach of the last of its leaves, plus went a long way to emptying neighbouring trees. The lawns were cleared of most of the leaf fall which will help with our garden tidy up

I was told that the wind was pretty fierce last night, with the rain beating against windows. At about midnight, the bedside lights switched themselves on to maximum. You touch the metal base to switch them on. I guess a power surge triggered them.

    I slept right though.

Ooh.....that would scare me if my lights came on like that! But you're probably right about a power surge......well I hope you are.

You must be a sound sleeper!
