    Snow all going now. Combination of rain and sun is thawing it.

    Indication of things to come this winter? Is the after effects of Sandy? We do get affected by those big storms, don't we?

    I'm not sure. I think our respective towns are at roughly the same elevation. The UK is quite a place for micro climate phenomena

    More likely that the south west gets Atlantic weather systems whereas we in the south east get systems from the North Sea and Central Europe (generally!).

    We do get warmer weather down here. I think gab could be right. It just happened to hit the right conditions. It was at least 2-3 inches.
