    Architecture - buildings that is

I have a love of buildings and architecture in general. I love old buildings and enjoy seeing some of the details and design solutions.

I have started this thread so that we may share pics and views - written as well as pictorial that is.

A couple of shots taken around London Bridge are herewith. the Tall one under construction is The Shard.

Great thread! I have loved this building/church all my life. It is located on Geary Street in San Francisco. I just took this recently.

I love the architecture in London too.

Have you checked out the TubeWalks app, I don't use it as I have always walked between tube stations when the opportunity arises but some good info on there. Also, good views from the Thames Clipper which also has a bar on board(!) and there is an app for that too.

I took it in a redevelopment by TOOLEY Street. The Area is called More London and was designed by Foster & Partners. I worked in one of the greenest London buildings at TOOLEY Street.

Some more pics. The elephant sculptures suddenly appeared all over the place. To raise awareness of the plight of the Asian elephant.

The reflection shot is near of Hays Wharf Southwark Crown Court.

The skyscrapers in the distance are Canary Wharf taken from close to Tower Bridge.

The last pics are of the 2012 Olympics site in 2009. Viewed during the London Open House weekend.

I must learn to attach post codes to the comments to see whether they can be linked to the maps application. Nope it doesn't work

See I added a kitchen interior. Its in a basement flat which the architect and designer owners refurbished and ultra-modernised. I may as well include other views of the flat in a new post.

A brilliant app. Called Tubewalker. It has a lot more on London landmarks etc. The full app costs £2.99. Zone 1 walks can be viewed for free. Heavenly

I live in the U.S. I have always wanted to visit London in person. That def. was a place to go on my bucket list! Due to medical problems, I can't travel. So I just wanted to thank all of you for these gorgeous pictures and for giving me a sneak peek into a beautiful country! Thanks again!
