Here are some views in Kew Gardens, a world class botanical centre. Admission is pretty hefty now. As a boy, I paid 1 old penny at the turnstiles to get in. Entry is over £5 these days.

These photos are of St Pancras Station, now the Eurostar Terminal, and of the British Library next door. The BL is worth a visit with free exhibitions and a nice bookshop.

I took these at the Barbican yesterday. The area is like a small city within London. It is a post-war development, in the style of Le Corbusier.

    The theatre is good.
More pics will follow tomorrow, to show the gardens in the sky at Barbican.

    Have a good day all.

Nice photos Richard. Keep them coming! I don't go to the big smoke anymore so it's great to see your pics. Have you got any new Olympic stadium photos yet! I hear from one of my teachers that there is a viewing platform?

Have you got the guardian eyewitness app, there is a stunning picture in there, recently, of the Olympic stadium at stratford with the lights on.

Yes at the top of a point block of flats. We want to visit. It would be nice to use the DLR. I'll certainly take pics. I expect we will travel before the shopping centre is opened.

Great App, Gabriel, especially as it's free.

OK here are some more. I took St Pancras on Saturday, with scaffolding gone. The hotel, now 50% sold off as apartments is at the far end of the building.

The interiors are of the newly refurbishes roof of Victoria Station over platforms 1-8. Gabriel, enjoy. I like the Cast Iron fretwork etc.

I attach this photo taken at the Barbican. It's is 3 photos stitched together and shows the gardens, complete with trees, at roof level.

This reminds me of when work Ed for Greenwich Borough as a repairs & maintenance surveyor. A Meeting Room with a green roof, along the lines of Barbican gardens, had several roof leaks. The green roof was supposed to provide improved thermal insulation to the building.

A standing joke was that the grass could be mown by flyomo.

Anyway, my answer was to remove the soil and vegetation, replace the asphalt with insulation slabs under, and paint over with solar reflective paint. End of problem. I'm not sure whether the architects approved
