So anyone want to guess what will happen at Apple as far as products are concerned? Steve drove development to a large extent and with him finally gone, will Apple change? I am sure the bloggers and experts will chime in with all sorts of "secret documents" from "inside sources" that claim all sorts of craziness. We all knew Steve would pass on, but now that he is gone, it is very real.
R.I.P. Mr Jobs, You are greatly missed already
Personally I respect Steve Jobs alot. He didn't had an easy life in the earlier days. Being ousted out by John Sculley the guy he brought in. He work hard for NeXT and Pixar, etc. I strongly believe Apple would not be the same without him.
Is it just me, or is it a little selfish to immediately say they hope this won't ruin Apple? I am deeply saddened by Steve's death, and out of respect for him, I'm going to honor his life for awhile before I turn the tables on myself and worry about what will happen to the company.
Cook was a handpicked CEO, so I'm sure he is more than ready to fill his shoes. We knew Steve resigned for health reasons, so we also suspected the chairmanship wouldn't last for long, either. He worked on his baby until the very end, and that, among many other things, is to be commendable. I think Apple will continue in the right path, the way Steve would have wanted it. As long as Apple exists, and as long as new products continue to be created, I will continue to be a consumer.
I do realize I may be a little sensitive about this so re: my first paragraph, if anyone finds it annoying, I apologize.

I totally agree with you. I didn't realise how emotional I would be on hearing the news! I never knew him but the joy I get every day from using his products is profound. I hope USA honours his death in a big way. I hear Obama praised him as one of USA leading innovators.

I just heard the news. Bill Gates said some very kind words. Apple, it's influence and the spin offs are his legacy.Originally Posted by Hayles66

FWIW folks have been expressing their thoughts about Steve on the iPF News Thread since he passed...
Steve Jobs Passes Away
Discussions about Apple's future, etc. are probably more appropriate here however. As usual, please keep discussions respectful. TIA.
