I know. Yummy. Couldn't decide so had a piece of all. Mostly of rasp meringue and strawberry fool with the rich strawberry juice on top. I'm still full this morning. The Sicilian cake was very nice too. Oh there was also chocolate cake but couldn't eat that. What a selection.

Now......for mash, along with the lashings of butter, you need to throw in lashings of grated mature cheddar cheese and some chopped chives. I can also recall having been given a portion of mash made like that which had then been sprinkled lightly with more grated cheese and put under the grill until the cheese had gone a golden brown colour and as it cooled it formed a crust.......it was stunning!

No, don't you dare think about ruining your Mum's mash. Butter, sea salt, black pepper is all, possibly a drip of milk if needed. Garlic would ruin the lovely mash taste. It could go into any accompanying dish.

Sorry, didn't make it to the party :-( The balloon was taking too long to blow up, ran out of puff. Bet you didn't have much left over!

    EDIT:
I have cut the tennis text-- wrong thread, sorry. Moved over to "What are you doing?"

Love garlic and ginger. I'm Chinese and they're our basics for many dishes, though.

I have ginger most days in my chai, too. Peel a chunk, cut into slices and drop into carafe of chai. Extra kick.

Usually use fresh garlic, but used powdered garlic last night in our cheese fondue.

Some of the chopped garlic bottled in light oil, is pretty tasty too. Depends on the brand.

We make this at home. There's always a bottle in the fridge.

My husband is at the driving range so I've foraged in the kitchen. Having thick-cut ciabatta, toasted, slathered with butter and cherry preserves, which a neighbor put up. Chai with ginger, as usual.
