Fruit pastilles have been here forever though.
Hayles....I like the mixed flavored ones also!
Strange, never seen a tube here with anything but the mixed lot. If they come in one- flavour rolls, I would go for the orange, every time!

They have going for years, haven't they? Gives you a nice warm feeling that some things stay the same...
Can remember buying them from the tuck shop in Dulwich Village (London SE 2?) on the way home from Infant school when I was 5. That's a very long time ago...

We used to have mixed-flavored tubes as kids, but they were some other brand, and without the crust of sugar crystals. They also were super chewy, so tough that in Chinese they're commonly called elephant-hide candy, lol. Also loved those. They were so tough and sticky, sometimes you'd have to force your little jaws open once they welded your teeth together, lol.

They only ever came in mixed or the blackcurrant, here anyway.
I always went for the orange, actually I do that in any kind of jelly sweet, lemon next.

Yes it does give you that feeling of comfort when you see familiar items, a little weird though when travelling overseas and seeing an item in a foreign language.

I think they might be what we call here "wine gums". Don"t know why; as far as I know they didn't have any wine in them, just fruit flavouring. But they are hard & solid & yes, stick your teeth together! I always liked the softer pastilles best & the crunchy sugar. No wonder we are all toothless! :-)

Snap! Orange for me always in anything, then lemon. That goes for chocs with fruity centres in a mixed box too, say Quality Street or Terry's All Gold. But it has to be good plain chocolate, none of yer milk desecration. But fruit centres seem quite rare in a box of chocs now, sadly

My big problem is people like you who love milk chocolate!. There are many more of you Milkies than us Plainsters, so we can't win...:-(
If you substitute the choc, then I'm with you all the way with the fillings. Preferably soft & runny, or fondant.. All you said plus...tada! Coffee! And Mint. Oh and yes to fudge!
i forgot cherry. And apricot. You don't often get that but Thornton's used to do a very good plain choc with apricot cream, sold loose with others that you could pick & mix. They don't do that any more :-(

I forgot to mention that I love dark choc with these fillings. I just don't eat dark chocolate on its own by choice.

I prefer being force fed "Cherry Blossoms."
