Lol Hayley you make me laugh
I miss the van by the river on a summer day, but the shop is great too especially in this cold weather,

Great idea. I'm going to have barbecue today then! Been meaning to return to this great 'cue place I've tried only once.
I love American barbecue and have had it cross-country. I highly recommend the Texas Barbecue Trail, a bunch of amazing mom-and-pop barbecue joints near the Austin area that draw barbecue aficionados from worldwide:

I've been to most of the places on the trail over years and can only be glad that I don't live anywhere near that part of the country, because my arteries would've given out by now (though I would've died happy). On my first trip on the trail, I met Japanese and Germans, as well as plenty of Texas locals, as we all dug into the best barbecue in the world.
I love ribs as well--I slow cook mine in the oven for ~2 hours than barbecue it with Chipotle barbecue sauce on it. I don't like my ribs to saucy, because it's just a mess all over me--so I tend to put less.
Ribs, plus a Golden Margarita on a hot Summer Day is just grand!!
@ KayKayKay--my relatives live in Texas and have told me about the trail. They say it is really the best.
Kay! Will you stop it? I love barbecue! Huh! You guys torment me daily. I've just had tea and cheese straws(puffed pastry with cheese on top)
Gab! You big ole meanie!
Ricky! You are just as bad as these two. I'm having spaghetti bolognese tonight so there!
Did any of you see on yahoo about that burger place (New York?) where you get heart attack burgers and a man had a heart attack while eating one. They looked ginormous. Can't say I'd enjoy 3 or 4 burgers with all the trimmings in one sitting anyway.

Tea and cheese straws sound good!
We're here to food-inspire each other, Hayles! Cheers!
I saw an American programme at Christmas, I think it was called "man v food" or something like that. This guy was eating the most enormous meals, I seem to recall him eating around 5lbs of baked cheese in one sitting, with a side portion of fries!
I was just wondering if that was the man that Hayles is referring to...we have that show running for our patients...don't ask me why, but they like it. Anyways, through the course of the season-you could see the guy just getting huge from all that food he ate! I think now he has others eat it for him-which is probably good for his heart and arteries.
