I've read a fair number of gardening books but do not remember reading anything by Hamilton. It's possible I don't remember since my memory for authors names is shot (a sad statement from a retired librarian). Do you remember the name of the plant that suppresses grass. Hi Bobbi, it's Yellow Rattle a semi parasitic annual with yellow hooded flowers. There are loads of hits on Google.

What wonderful plants. I'm so envious of the delphinium. They never come back here. Too much heat and humidity. Your roses are so pretty. Plants that you've had for a long time are like comfort food. I have hostas that came from my grandfathers yard and iris from my mom. Not fancy ones but I think of them whenever I look at them.

But I bet your hibiscus and bougainvillea are terrific.

Sub tropical plants and flowers are superb.
