Just put a recycling idea into practice. After the torrents of rain a very large container flooded. After emptying out the sogginess, I found the drainage holes blocked, despite my having put broken crocks over them to keep clear.

I cut holes in 2 places in the rim of plastic seedling pots. Placed the pots upside down over the drainage holes. Put pea shingle around the inverted pots and refilled the container with fresh dry soil etc.

    The drainage should work.

Yes, we are recycle mania. Cloches are old windows, dustbins for potatoes, baths for ponds, basins for planters, pallets for decking etc... You don't have to spend a fortune to get good food and looks!

Here are some photos which I took at the Hampton Court Flower Show in 2007.

A good show, not as expensive to get in as Chelsea and more space to wander around.

Hayles you were asking about a White clematis with 4 thin petals to each flower. I think it is "Wilsonii".

Great photo! I don't think your neighbours were too impressed with him! The real one that is! I am eating strawberries, raspberries, lettuce, radishes and a couple of peas pods! I found a pea seed and put it into my herb shelf outside kitchen door and it produced two pea pods! Needless to say, the rest of our crop is still growing! I'm loving all my flowers at the moment! The rain has devastated my roses though! They have all gone soggy! I have up to 50 bushes dotted round garden.

Rain nearly got my patio cushions, luckily hubby got home early and covered them all!

My roses are all looking a bit bedraggled. Blooming rain brought black spot! I hate that! Delphiniums are going over now.

Well! I've watered the garden and neighbours tell me it's raining tonight. Richard, please tell me it's not!

I hope it didn't. It hasn't here for 2 days now, so we are kept busy watering.  and all looks rosy.
