Someone please help me. I typically go to my BB Site, but I have a bit of a stalker over there ~ they want me to lay low

But here's the deal:

I want to change my alerts, IM, Messages, whatever, I want to change those sounds as I have oodles of choices....

BUT ~ When I change to one, it becomes my RINGTONE and not my alert thingy.

Am I making any sense at all?

How do you set the alerts? It doesn't really make much sense that your BB suddenly uses the wrong tones as alerts, unless your stalker has hacked your BB

Have you tried the following?

-click on the Sound symbol on home screen
-Select "Sounds and Alerts"
-Go to "Sounds for Selected Profile"
-Choose "Instant Messages - Notifiers"
-Select the IM you use
-Change "Notifiers Tone" and set volume to anything except "Silent"

Oh. Shitums. Don't say that. But it is funny how we read things that are not there.

I never said that my BB "suddenly uses the wrong tones as alerts", at least I don't think I meant it that way.

I just wanted to change the current alert sounds to something ~different.

But I figured it out! I will try your suggestion tho.
