We do have pet cemeteries here too.

I'll always bury them in my garden though.

    Hi Leelai.

I would be doing the same if I lost a pet. Don't know if i could leave it to somebody else, but sometimes it is so hard for some to deal with the emotions, etc.

I am not aware of any ruling here in our subdivision or state regs regarding this either...but wondering if there are areas that have bylaws in their association to rule on burying your pet. Makes me wonder now if my old Condo Association had a rule on that now.

Thanks. She was an incredible dog and he is. He's very smart. He taught himself a trick. Very obedient. I even had her trained to wait before we crossed the road for me to say ok or step out among other things. I still miss her a lot. It sucks losing a pet

Your welcome, and it does suck losing a pet Chester was by my side all the time and the last thing he did was watch me ride away on the bus.

I do remember all mine too and we have a couple resting in our yard.....but shh!

We're not allowed to bury them in our yards any more, causes too many problems when you sell and then the next owner digs them up.

I really don't think people abide by that rule though!

You remind me of a housing refurb project, where we were told not to disturb some roof top planters because a pet tortoise was buried in one of them. The contractors shuddered and steered a wide berth, especially because the planters were in timber which wad rotting away!

Let's leave the morbid side of things.

When we lived in Trinidad, BWI we had a stray mongrel dog, classed as a Pie Dog. He was a great companion and most protective of his adopted family.

According to my mother, we insisted on calling one dog "sexy". My parents were most embarrassed having to call for the dog when lost. Remember, this was back in the '50s.

That would have been horrible for your parents!

    But I am having a laugh. .

Our Neighbours called their cat Louie which is my husbands name and when they call him, hubby always responds....he gets quite upset when he realises he's fallen for it yet again. Actually hubby's name is Luke but his family have aways called him Louie and they can't even remember why!
