Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you will reach your destiny. (C. S.)

This is an "Irish Lord". Always released back to ocean. Never eaten. This fish is all mouth.

Mmmmm...halibut. Is that you in the Helly Hansens, Iriana? It's always nice to have faces to put to names...
Last time I went halibut fishing, it seemed all I could catch was 50-pound lingcod. Talk about all mouth. We had a discussion on the boat whether the black bass one of them coughed up should count toward my limit. I thought my arms would fall off that day. I don't even enjoy eating lingcod that much.
Honestly, I would rather throw flies at silvers. On my first trip to Alaska, my buddy and I each caught about 100 salmon (silvers, pinks, and chums) a day for five days; we'd quit for dinner when we no longer had the strength to lob another fly at the fish. Sometimes, even I get lucky!
