You're right Samana. The uni was founded in 1874 and those are the original buildings, with rather neat architecture. Here'a link which will give you a better idea of its history.

Thanks Richard. These old buildings remind of some we saw in Oxford whose themes would no doubt have been copied in the 1800s. Unfortunately we never got to see Cambridge or your other famous ones.

I like your pictures. You're good.
Thanks J.A. Here's a few more just to conclude my post of that day's walk. Although I have not done so, a lot of those shots could have been much improved with some editing, particularly straightening. (Although the camera, which has good anti-shake and auto exposure has helped with the eyesight and shaky hands)

I think I will try a "walk and shoot" (among people, rather than in the woods)! Something I have been saying I would do for a while now, but I can't seem to stay out of those woods. I think I like critters more than people.

Quite right! You never know what critters you will meet up in the woods, even those guys in green with bows and arrows!

Nice neat classrooms J.A. What are those holes or cavities on the desk tops? They remind me of ink wells we had in our desk tops in primary school many years ago, and the real trouble I got into by once dipping a girl's pig tails into them I suppose they are for pencils and such.

    Thank you!
You're right, they're for pencils, rubbers,... The children rarely use them, most of the time their pencil cases are hiding them.
