To move the split keyboard on iPad tap and hold the keyboard button in the bottom right, and slide your finger up and down. The keyboard will follow.
Dang this is awesome. I'm typing this reply with the split keyboard. Thank u much!Quote:

In previous iPad OS's you could find a specific word or phrase in the Safari Browser by typing what you're looking for into the Google search bar at the top of the browser. In the drop down menu the last entry was "On This Page" along with a count of how many times the item was found (or say "No matches"). Tapping on the findings would take you to each result.
With Safari on iOS 5 tapping inside the Google search bar still brings up the virtual keyboard so you can type an entry, however the keyboard now has a "Find on Page" of its own! Type what you're looking for there and it automatically finds and highlights the item. Press the forward or back button next to the search field to move around the page.

Someone had asked about searching web pages in the iPad's Safari Browser on another part of the forum, so I thought it might be nice to include it here as well. :)
Double clicking the space bar after a word/character is a shortcut for a full stop and a space.
Previously a number of us had enabled the "Secret Multitasking Gestures" on our iPads using an Xcode "hack" (w/o jailbreaking). The iOS 5 upgrade disabled the feature, allowing it only on the iPad 2 (for unknown reasons).
It took a week, but an enterprising developer has given owners of the original iPad the ability to enable multitasking gestures once again!
I've updated an earlier post about it with instructions and a video.
The skill level to enable these features is fairly basic.
I suspect the gestures feature will be enabled on the original iPad in the future, so if you're not up for it, it'll probably show up one of these days. But if you just can't wait (or are just curious) visit this thread:

I've tried doing this on my iPad 2 with ios5 but can't seem to figure it out. I'm having to manually click on every photo and can't drag accros others to more quickly select multiple. Having to click every one if I have a thousand has gotten old really fast! Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
If I remember correctly - this "shortcut" way to delete photos disappeared with the release/install of iOS5.
Sorry.
Marilyn
Unfortunately this is correct. We discussed this in another thread. :(Quote:
