Last night while sending an email on my Ipad 2, everything froze. I could not send the email, alter the email or save the email. All the other apps worked fine, but from that point forward, when I opened the mail icon, a message appeared in the center of the screen saying: "Cannot Get Mail. The mail server imap.gmail.com is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings." I did so, checking all mail settings, and nothing seemed amiss.

Email on my PC and smart phone work fine. Not the Ipad. Any ideas?

This sometimes happens if you lose your wifi or 3G while receiving email.


Close the mail app in the multitask bar, and restart the app, and all should be well.

From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly.
