I just joined the forum today looking for answers about using the iPad in med school. I am getting an iPad soon because I would much rather carry an iPad around with my books on it than a 50 lb bookbag! However, I'm not sure how much memory I will need. I'm not a very technically inclined person, so I really have no concept of how much memory a textbook will take up! Any advice? Thank you for any information you can provide!

An iPad with 16 gb storage can be enough, if you prefer only books...

A funny thing with an iPad, when you first buy one you don't realise all the different tasks an iPad can handle. The best advice I can give is to get the biggest you can afford.
Have a look at these links as this has been asked many times before.

This story says this med school is giving students 32GB ones, so I wouldn't buy less than that:
