    Greetings,
    Welcome to the iPad Forums.
There is provision to be able to share apps with other members of your household. I am not sure if Apple has a similar rule in a business environment. It may be your best bet to call the Apple phone number and ask. In the home situation you have to set up your iTunes on the different computers to share an account login. After that, the computers can share apps, movies, and music.
    Good luck.

Many thanks. Another question - if someone in the household wants to download an app, when they connect to iTunes, does this mean that it wipes everything fro their iPad that they previously had and replaces it with what in iTunes? Sorry to be so dim.

You get to keep what is on your individual iPad and have the choice to install apps that others in your household have downloaded and saved to their iTunes. Your iPad doesn't get wiped out.
Remember to back up your iPad to your computer or to the iCloud from time to time. Just in case something happens you can restore from backup and you are up and running. I backup to my computer so I don't have to pay for more iCloud storage above the 5 gigs they provide for free. Besides, I am on dial-up Internet and it takes a long time to backup to the iCloud

Oh, what I didn't think of at the time of my previous post is that you would be sharing the apps across the network. You would plug your iPad into your computer and have access to the shared apps. You would not be plugging in your iPad into different computers.
I think that should clear up that part.

If you are in the U.S., Apple has a volume purchase program for educators. You should look into it.

Sharing apps is something Apple permits sharing among immediate family members. There is no licensing provision for sharing apps for businesses or education.

Then I'm afraid I don't have a good answer for you. I pick up most of my iPad-in-education information from this blog: http://speirs.org/ which I only follow out of curiosity.
