If you are not jail broken just sit back, relax and enjoy your iPad. There are currently no known threats for iOS :-)

And, if you ARE jailbroken, you also can sit back and enjoy. Unless you visit dodgy repos (read: ones not screened/used by the staff of Cydia) or attempt to use piracy tools, your jail broken iPad is as safe as a stock one.
