Thread: Help with the first gen of iPad.

I love my iPad 1. I cannot have cameras at work so updating is not practical. However I am still a novice and just use it for reading, facebook, games basic stuff. I finally figured out how to create files. My problem is I have apps on separate pages and cannot figure out how to get them all on the same page? Then there are icons sitting on the bottom of the first screen (the dock?) somehow I got them there and do not want them there. How do I move them? I have tried holding the icons until they wiggle but the page just slides and the icon I want to move stays on the same page.

After you got them to wiggle, bring them to edge of the screen and the screen will move

It takes a little practice sometimes, press until they wiggle and then bring it to the side of the page, don't lift your finger though and the page will slide, now lift your finger. If your page is already full it will kick another app to the next page. It's the same deal for the dock too.

I learned this from Marilyn, so credit where it's due.

You can use the dock to transfer apps between pages. Just drag the wiggling icon to the dock, switch pages, then move the icon into its position on the new page. Beats trying to hold on to the icon until the page decides to flip. I have 6 icons permanently in my dock, so I never even thought of this myself.
