    Question Using i-Tunes to Synch

Let's hope I describe this problem intelligently, as I am new to both Apple and my new iPad.

I am trying to use sync for a few reasons, the most important being that we have a calendar on Outlook on my computer at work, and we'd like to be able (my boss and I) to "see" that calendar on our iPads - especially important to him when he's out of the office and in court. So, I read the directions in found in "Ipad for Dummies" to use sync to do this. The first problem encountered is that when I attach my iPad to the usb port, I get the "not charging" message (which I don't really care about, except that it should work, right?). Now it tells me to go into iTunes and it says iTunes can synchronizing everything automatically. However, when I open iTunes, it doesn't give me any options for synch, it only shows menus for Movies, Tunes, Books, etc,

I presently pick up e-mail on my iPad via yahoo, but at home (on my desktop) I am using Windows Live Mail. I think I need to sync these because if I delete a message in Windows Live Mail, I don't want to have to delete it again when I go to Mail on my iPad. Also, if I send a message in Windows Live Mail, I will also find it in the Sent folder on my iPad - should that happen?

I think I could probably solve a lot of these problem if the sync was working but it is not, at least not with iTunes. Can anyone help?

There is really no need to sync email via iTunes. You need to set it up on the iPad itself. Go to settings push on "mail, contacts, calendars" then add account. With windows live you should be able to do it in microsoft exchange.

You need to change the Apple id associated with your iPad. If you have your apps (ones downloaded with your id) saved via iTunes I would do a restore to factory then restore the backup. You will lose all the apps your friend downloaded but that's just the way it works unfortunately.
