HI Tessy-Welcome to the forum.
Make sure that your side switch button is not turned off. Go to settings/general/Use Side Switch.
Make sure that the "Mute" is unchecked.
Give that a try...

A couple more things..
1. You do have the native Mail App included in the Notification center? Sorry to ask, but let's verify.
2. What is your setting as to how you get your email retrieved? Go to Settings/Mail, contacts, Calendars/Fetch New Data. I have mine set for manually-when I want to view-it opens when I open the Mail app.
3. Check your sounds setting and check to see if you have the ringer and alerts turned on.

Hi well I have just done another reset for the settings,as I could get my email by opening the mail app but before it made a tone and alerted me on screen so I knew I had new mail it's that part that has stopped working,I have read this has happened to a few people so thinking it may be a bug in the mail app, hoping it will work with the reset.Originally Posted by skimonkey
Omg iPad is alerting me again I done another reset for the settings and it started alerting me,but after one message it seemed to stop so I changed the settings from push to fetch and set it for 15 minutes and set to time instead of manual and hey presto tone alerts and notifications r now working hooray!! Thank u for all ur help out there and hope this may help some of u with the same problem, just don't give up I neverOriginally Posted by tessy
the only thing I will have to work out now is how to get the emails to come in straight away instead of waiting 15 minutes, but for now I am happy with how things r working.
