Hi, looking forward to contributing to your site. I have had iPods, have an iPhone and am now after a pad ! I move to the US with work in June so will get an iPad 3 there (as cheaper). In the meantime I am going to get an iPad 2 second hand from eBay or similar for tasks up until I go, then give it to my parents so they can (hopefully) use FaceTime etc to keep in contact !!

The only thing that concerns me over the second hand iPad to start with is how to register a second hand one with my iTunes account so that it 'becomes mine ' !! - any advice greatfuy received.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Your new/used iPad should come restored back to factory condition if it is not go to Settings - General - Reset then erase all content and settings then iTunes will treat it as a new iPad. Here are a couple of links to explain everything
