Thread: I REALLY am a Newbie!

Hi everyone. I stumbled across this forum, looking for some help with Skype on my iPad 2. Anyway, before I start asking questions, I would like to know how use this forum properly. I have been browsing and find it very confusing. Can someone direct me to where I can find out more? I have found some pages with Avatars that have red or green dots on them, what do they mean? There are others pages with no avatars, but icons. Neither can I see a button for starting a new thread or replying to a post.

Are you using the website version of the forum, or the app? The app is probably easier to navigate, and can be downloaded free from the AppStore.

The green and red lights simply indicate whether a user is online (green) or offline (red).

Actually, you did start a new thread (this one) so whatever you did, just do it again and you'll be fine.

Take your time, and try to get used to the feel of the thing. There are always people around to help. Use the search facility to see if your questions have already been answered, and then get typing. Be specific! Don't just start a thread called HELP!!! Because I guarantee you'll be ignored. That's just the way things are.

We are here to help. Don't be afraid to send a PM (private message) if you want more direct help. I would recommend using the app version as it is easier to navigate.

Have a look through some of the questions other people have asked, and follow the links that have been recommended. Just play around. You can't do any damage.
