NO SOUND and new to forum... Help please!

Hi all my name is Lorie, I'm new to the forum... I found the forum looking for answers to my iPad!

I do not have sound on my key pad, slide to lock and some of the recent apps I have down loaded. I have checked my general settings and all looks good. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Lorie and welcome to the forum.

You might want to check that the mute switch on the right hand side is not set. If the orange dot is visible you won't hear anything.

Hello Lorie - welcome to the forum!

Just a few basic questions: 1) Check your 'slide switch' (right upper side) - this is defaulted to mute the sound and may have been unintentionally switched; 2) Also make sure that the rocker switch for sound volume has not been set to mute; and 3) Open the multitask bar (double tap the home button) and swipe right until the volume slider (and brightness option) is shown - check the setting. Just a begiinning but may be the answer - good luck!
