How can you do a screen record on an iPad?

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

You can take a screen shot of the screen. Press the power off button top right and the home button simultaneously and this will take a photo of your screen and save it to your camera roll.

I know about screenshots, I am looking for a way to do screen recordings

If you have a jail broken iPad, you can go to Cydia and buy the tweak "Display Recorder" ($4.99, USD). You won't get any sound, but you can record everything that is happening on the iPad.

There is no such function for a stock iPad, AFAIK.
