Hi,

My name is Rich and I am new to the forum. I recently acquired an iPad 1 from a friend who got an iPad 2.

I work in healthcare operations these days after 10 years at Hewlett Packard.

I am noticing that my iPad seems to randomly turn itself off.

My auto lock setting is never. Somebody mentioned that might be a potential cause.

Any ideas would be appreciiated.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Do you put your iPad to sleep at all? If you do leave it on all the time eventually you will run into problems.
If that's not the case try a reset. Reset: Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know how you go.
