Have searched the forums and found threads where there is no sound without headphones, but my connection seems to have failed? I have a first series iPad and have been using it for about 8 months. Any thoughts

So you have used the headphones before now and they have worked? I've heard that you need to give a gentle push to seat them in the connection properly.
