    WIFI help

I am still trying to get onto my new ipad2. I have high speed internet for my home computer, although no router, just the modem. Also have xbox connected to modem. My ipad is not picking anything up, in order to turn WIFi on. Do I need to plug ipad2 into the modem as well? Hope you can tell what I'm trying to say. Any suggestions,

    Welcome to the forum!!

So no wireless connection? No wifi, your iPad cannot connect. You may want to invest in a router, otherwise your iPad will not be able to connect to the Internet, unless you go somewhere with free wifi.

I have a router. Just haven't been using it. So, if I don't have a router hooked up, does that mean I don't have wireless?

You can always get a mobile hotspot device, such as virgin mobile-to get you on the net...or use your cell phone wifi. Just some alternates if you choose not to use your router.

My cell phone has wifi, but its a work phone. Its an HTC Evo Swift 4G. Would I need to get a password from my employer, or is it in my phone somewhere?

    Try this:

Create a hotspot with cell phone - Google Search

You may want to consult with your work as well, since it may incur extra costs to use it as a hotspot. You can purchase a virgin mobile broadband wifi for about $100 and pay as you go. Not sure if this is an option. Realize that it may not be as fast as what you are accustomed to having with your home Internet.
