increase margins on pdfs for GoodReader annotation

    Hi

I lioke to write notes in the margisn of pdfs and whilst GoodReader has a crop tool for cutting margins, I would often like bigger margins. Does anyone know of a way to create wider margins - either in GoodReader or a fix outside of GoodReader that will then be supported when the PDF is opended in GoodReader?

    Hi Sasperella,
I use Goodreader as well-and I do not think that we can increase the margins, only to crop margins as you mentioned. Would be nice to have that option, though.

    Welcome to the forum.

PDF is essentially a print layout format. That means you would need a PDF editor to change margin size. While there may be a real PDF editor for the iPad, I'm not aware of one.

The only workaround I can think of is to import the PDF into another document editor, place it in the center of the page with whatever margins you want (either change document size or shrink the PDF image), and then export it as a PDF again.

I'm not aware of anything on the iPad that will do this, but I certainly don't have all the apps that might be able to do it.

However, can do it in Pages on my iMac; so I have to assume you can probably do it in Word and/or several other Windows programs. The iMac has the ability to print as a PDF as a standard part of the OS. Windows usually require another program to add that capability. CutePDF is one of the free options.
