Grrrr I'm pulling my hair out over this. Ok I read the basics of the SK method and it does not work for me. The hide key button when held does not pop up any option to unbound the keyboard. In fact I dont even see those rigids on that key. What am I doing wrong. Has anyone else had this problem. I just got my ipad2 64g yesterday.

Regarding your question if you don't see the ridges on the right hand side of the 'hide keyboard key' then your ipad may not be on IOS 5. Have a look in Settings - General - About and look for Version. Let us know what you find.

Ahh I see. Well I checked and it turns out that I have version 4.3.5. Is there a way that I may get iOS 5 or is these something I should I have asked for when I purchased it a day ago? I honestly thought in getting the iPad 2 that I would get this feature. Thanks a lot for the help.

I just searched the forum. It looks like I just need to do an update thru iTunes? am I right in assuming. Thanks again

That's correct, just connect to iTunes then on the main screen on your computer you should see a message that new software is available.....just follow the prompts.

Make sure that you have updated to the latest version of iTunes on your computer first.

Also if after you update it still does not work follow these steps.
Goto settings, general, keyboard and inside there is a toggle to turn split keyboard on and off.
Hope this helps.
I could not get mine to split and then found this in settings.
